Costa Rican Border Police seize arsenal on bus
Costa Rican Border Police seized an arsenal consisting of 10 pistols, 10 magazines, and 400 rounds of ammunition during a routine inspection of a bus near El Corozo de Los Chiles. The incident occurred around 10:40 p.m. on Monday as the vehicle traveled from San Carlos toward Los Chiles.
Two Nicaraguan nationals, an 18-year-old male and a 21-year-old female, were apprehended during the stop. Both individuals were in an irregular migratory status. The weapons were found concealed in bags placed on their laps. The 21-year-old woman was found with four 9mm pistols and 200 rounds of 9mm ammunition. The 18-year-old man was in possession of six 9mm pistols, 100 rounds of .38 caliber ammunition, and 100 rounds of 6.35mm ammunition.
Following the seizure, the suspects were handed over to the San Carlos Flagrancy Prosecutor's Office for judicial proceedings.
