Costa Rican culture showcased in U.S. festivals

Costa Rican cultural traditions are being showcased through various festivals in the United States. In New York City, a delegation organized by Sector 011 – Yo Soy Costa Rica will participate in the Hispanic Heritage Parade on Fifth Avenue. The representation will focus on the province of Guanacaste, featuring a float inspired by the culture of the region, including elements such as the facade of the historic Nicoya church, a marimba, and a bull.

Additionally, Costa Rican artisans participated in the HOLA Charlotte 2026 festival in North Carolina. The exhibition included traditional Sarchí oxcarts, decorated by artist Elizabeth Jiménez Soto, and traditional Boruca masks. These displays aimed to share the country's craftsmanship and national symbols with the local Latino community.
