The Drug Control Police (PCD) dismantled a drug trafficking gang in the Barva canton of Heredia, Costa Rica, following 13 anonymous reports made to the 1-1-7-6 confidential tip line. The operation involved raids on two residences in the El Pedregal community.
Authorities arrested five individuals, including the group's leader, a woman identified by the surname Quesada and the alias ‘Tonina’. Quesada was already wanted by authorities for a drug sales conviction and for evading electronic monitoring via an ankle bracelet. Other detainees included men identified as Pineda, Bermúdez, Salas, and Narváez, several of whom had extensive criminal records for drug possession and sales.
During the search, officers seized 322 grams and five doses of marijuana, 18 grams and five doses of cocaine, 50 doses of crack, seven bottles of ketamine, 33 rounds of various ammunition, 193,000 colones, and 135 boxes of irregularly imported cigarettes. The suspects have been transferred to the Heredia Prosecutor's Office.
