Costa Rican schools and sports club support environmental initiatives

The Asociación del Club Sport Herediano has joined the national “Juguemos Limpio” campaign, an environmental awareness initiative aimed at promoting planet protection and waste reduction. During a presentation at the Colegio Federado de Ingenieros y de Arquitectos, the club's Social Projection Commission expressed its commitment to applying sporting values like discipline and teamwork to community cleanliness and sustainability.

In a separate development, three schools in Costa Rica have been awarded a total of $6,000 through Enel Costa Rica’s “Innova Play” program to execute sustainable projects. The winners include the Luis Demetrio Tinoco School in Sarapiquí, which will use $2,500 for reforestation projects utilizing QR codes for scientific tracking; La Balsa School in Atenas, which received $2,000 for a circular economy project involving composting and recycling; and Chucaz School in Mora, which was granted $1,500 to build an ecological sports court and recover green spaces.
