Costa Rican students gather for BEYCRA 2026 Literary Encounter

In San José, 182 high school students from 133 educational centers across Costa Rica gathered at the Centro Nacional de la Cultura (CENAC) for the BEYCRA 2026 Literary Encounter. Organized by the Ministry of Public Education through its Department of School Libraries and Learning Resource Centers, the annual event serves as a collaborative platform for young authors to share original works and discuss the role of reading.

The gathering highlights the government’s efforts to foster literary talent and critical thinking among youth through a non-competitive, exchange-based environment.
