Costa Rican Study Finds Colombian Travelers Prioritize Wellness and Nature

The Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) released a study on Colombian travel behavior, showing a shift toward wellbeing, nature, and family connection. The report states, "Estamos viendo un cambio en la forma en que las personas eligen sus viajes. Hoy buscan destinos que les permitan sentirse mejor física y emocionalmente, conectar con la naturaleza y regresar renovados," said Ireth Rodríguez, head of the Vacation Segment Promotion and Development at ICT. Motivations vary by age: young adults favor authentic experiences and adventure, those 25‑34 prefer couple trips with exploration, 35‑54 focus on family outings, and over‑55 prioritize rest, nature and beaches. The survey indicates that 41% of Colombian travelers enjoy natural environments and outdoor activities, while 46% are eager to discover new and different experiences.
