Ecuadorian security forces captured alias “El Paisa”, a Colombian citizen identified as a hitman hired by the Los Lobos crime group, during an operation in Quito. Defence Minister Gian Carlo Loffredo said the arrest resulted from military intelligence work and noted that a 9 mm Glock pistol, magazine, ammunition and drugs were seized.
The government also announced a reward of up to $1 million for information that leads to the capture of alias Saoco (Edinson Alexander Delgado Rocafuerte), a former Los Lobos lieutenant who now heads the splinter group Sao‑Box. Interior Minister John Reimberg presented Saoco as a top priority in the fight against organized crime.
In a separate raid in Esmeraldas, police re‑apprehended three Los Lobos members – aliases “Ye”, “Luis” and “Yudanny” – on extortion charges. The operation recovered two mobile phones, a motorcycle and three deposit slips linked to a $30,000 demand.
