Costanza DiQuattro releases new novel ‘La mezza’

Sicilian author Costanza DiQuattro has released her new novel, ‘La mezza’, marking a transition to the publisher La Nave di Teseo after several works with Baldini+Castoldi. The book was previewed at Palazzo Arezzo in Ragusa Ibla, a location closely tied to DiQuattro’s work as an artistic director of the Teatro Donnafugata.

The novel explores themes of family secrets and generational conflict. The plot follows a character named Elena, who receives a long-held manuscript from her dying grandfather, Giovanni. This document contains truths regarding her mother, Agata, prompting a journey through her past. The title ‘La mezza’ serves as a theatrical metaphor for the suspended moment of anticipation just before a curtain rises.
