Costco advances expansion plans in Spain and Mexico
Costco is advancing expansion plans in both Spain and Mexico. In Siero, Spain, the company aims to begin construction on a large commercial site in the Bobes industrial park in early 2027, with an expected opening by the end of that year. The project, designated as a Project of Regional Strategic Interest (PIER), covers 54,586 square meters and will include a 15,680-square-meter retail space, a parking lot for over 800 vehicles, and a service station.
In Mexico, Costco has initiated procedures to establish a second location in the Puebla metropolitan area, specifically in the Lomas de Angelópolis zone of San Andrés Cholula. The company has approached local authorities to determine requirements and is awaiting an environmental impact assessment. While construction is projected to potentially begin in 2027, official dates for the start of works and the store opening have not yet been confirmed.
