Costco and Juchinya release new seasonal baumkuchen flavors
New seasonal baumkuchen varieties are gaining attention in the Japanese confectionery market. Costco is currently featuring a limited-edition ‘Burnt Butter’ flavor from Sennenya, sold in a 16-piece individually wrapped set. The product is noted for its rich aroma and moist texture, with customers expressing interest in it becoming a permanent item.
Separately, Juchinya has introduced a ‘Strawberry’ flavor for its ‘Nama Baumkuchen’ series, specifically for the Kansai region. This new version features strawberry cream with dried fruit pieces and smooth cream, creating a pink and white striped pattern. The strawberry flavor will be available at select locations including Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store and various stores in Kobe, starting in late October and November 2026.
