Costco reports strong fiscal 2026 results with $297.2 billion in net sales
Costco Wholesale Corporation reported strong financial results for fiscal year 2026, which ended in late August. The company saw net sales increase by 10.1% to $297.2 billion, while net income reached $9.2 billion for the full year.
In the fourth quarter specifically, net sales rose 11.2% year-over-year to $93.87 billion. The company’s membership base grew to 84.1 million paid members, a 3.8% increase, with executive memberships rising 9.4% to 42.3 million. CEO Ron Vachris noted that the company saved members an estimated $3.2 billion on gasoline purchases during the fiscal year.
Financial stability remains a key highlight, as cash and equivalents grew by 42.7% to $20.2 billion. The company also benefited from a non-recurring IEEPA tariff refund, which contributed $0.15 per diluted share to the bottom line. Despite a slight deceleration in membership growth compared to previous quarters, the global renewal rate remains high at 89.8%.
