Costco restocks Kirkland Signature chocolate chips

Costco has begun restocking its Kirkland Signature Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, a product that was previously discontinued due to rising cocoa prices. The return of the private-label item follows a period where the company replaced the chips with Nestlé Toll House products to maintain profitability during a global cocoa supply deficit.

The rollout is occurring on a store-by-store basis rather than a simultaneous nationwide release. Shoppers have reported sightings of the red bags in states including Texas, Connecticut, Oregon, Washington, and Virginia.

While the product is returning, consumers should expect higher costs than in previous years. A 4.5-pound bag is currently priced at approximately $14.99, compared to $7.99 in 2021, reflecting the significant increase in global cocoa market prices.
