Costco to invest 80 million euros in new Madrid store

Costco Wholesale Corporation has acquired approximately 60,000 square meters of land in Torrejón de Ardoz to build its third location in the Community of Madrid. The project involves an investment of roughly 80 million euros and is expected to create about 200 direct jobs.

The new facility will feature a commercial area of 15,000 square meters and include its own gas station. The company anticipates the store will open in September 2027. This expansion follows the company's existing locations in Getafe and Las Rozas within the region.

This move is part of Costco's broader expansion strategy in Spain, which the company has identified as a major priority in continental Europe. In addition to the Madrid project, the retailer has ongoing plans in Málaga and Siero, Asturias. The company currently operates five stores in Spain and maintains a distribution center in Torija, Guadalajara.
