Costco Wholesale reports strong earnings amid valuation debates
Costco Wholesale has reported strong financial results, including a 15 percent increase in net profit to $2.192 billion for the third quarter of fiscal year 2026. Revenue for the period rose 11.6 percent year-over-year to $69.15 billion. Membership fee income also saw growth, reaching $1.373 billion, a 10.7 percent increase compared to the previous year.
Despite these robust fundamentals, analysts are divided on the company's stock valuation. While some market data suggests the current share price of approximately $945 is below the average analyst price target of $1,059.53, others caution that the stock is trading at a high premium. Specifically, the stock trades at roughly 46 times estimated earnings, which some investors view as a high price relative to the projected annual earnings growth rate of just over 10 percent.
