Costco Wholesale shares attract new institutional investments

SHP Wealth Management reported a fourth‑quarter purchase of 1,416 Costco shares worth about $1.22 million, while other large investors such as Vanguard, Geode Capital, Morgan Stanley, Corient Private Wealth and Norges Bank also increased their holdings, bringing institutional ownership of the retailer to roughly 68.5 %.

PeakShares LLC added 1,224 shares valued at $1.06 million, and several smaller hedge funds—including Gunpowder Capital Management, Lifetime Wealth Management and McGuire Capital Advisors—made modest new positions in the stock. The filings note that Costco posted comparable sales growth of 9.8 %, a 10.7 % rise in membership fees and a 21.5 % increase in digital sales. The company’s most recent earnings showed earnings per share of $4.93, slightly below analysts’ estimate, on revenue of $70.53 billion.
