COSYS Mobile Device Management streamlines inventory app rollout for German retail chains

A German retail chain is deploying an updated inventory application across hundreds of stores. The rollout involves numerous mobile devices – handheld scanners, tablets and label printers – each requiring security policy updates and new price‑checking functions. Without a central device‑management system, the varied hardware and software versions create extensive support work, delayed rollouts and error‑prone operations.

COSYS Mobile Device Management (MDM) addresses these challenges by grouping devices (e.g., all store scanners, tablets for market managers, label printers) and applying configuration changes, security policies and OS updates centrally. This reduces on‑site IT visits, speeds integration of new stores and lowers support costs.

The accompanying COSYS Inventurservice combines pre‑configured devices, inventory software and the COSYS WebDesk to provide a real‑time dashboard. The dashboard shows inventory progress, highlights deviations and flags items that need recounts while the count is still in progress, enabling the central inventory team to intervene promptly and ensure consistent results across all locations.
