Cotia initiates feasibility study for new public bus concession
The City Hall of Cotia has officially authorized the start of a Technical, Economic, Financial, and Legal Feasibility Study (EVTEJ) to structure a future concession for the municipality's public bus system.
The contract, valued at R$ 2.8 million, was awarded to the Fundação para o Desenvolvimento Tecnológico da Engenharia (FDTE). The project is expected to take eight months to complete, with a total contract duration of 12 months. The study aims to provide the necessary technical guidelines, operational models, and regulatory drafts to support a future public bidding process.
Key objectives of the study include evaluating the expansion of service to various neighborhoods, creating new routes, reducing waiting times at bus stops, and restructuring the municipal road network. The process will involve technical surveys, meetings, and public hearings to ensure community input before the definitive bidding process is published.
