Cotia police investigate double homicide of lawyer and child

Police in Cotia, Greater São Paulo, are investigating the deaths of 29-year-old lawyer Anna Gabriela Faria Lima and her 6-year-old son, Rafael Faria Lima Ferraria. The victims were found dead in an apartment in the Lajeado neighborhood on Tuesday night.

The Civil Police have identified the victim's ex-boyfriend, Eric Conrado Alves de Almeida, as the primary suspect. Authorities are treating the case as feminicide and vicaricide, a classification used when a relative or dependent is killed to cause suffering or control over a woman.

The suspect fled the scene following the incident and is currently a fugitive. The Civil Police have requested a temporary arrest warrant from the judiciary. Anna Gabriela Faria Lima was the daughter of former São Paulo city councilman Paulo Roberto Faria Lima and a relative of former mayor José Vicente de Faria Lima.
