Cotonou to host major UEMOA financial and fintech forums in 2026

Cotonou is set to host two major regional financial gatherings in late 2026.

On October 21 and 22, 2026, the city will host the 8th UEMOA Congress of Chartered Accountants at the Palais des Congrès. Organized by the Order of Chartered Accountants and Certified Accountants of Benin (OECCA-Bénin), the event aims to address financial transparency and sovereignty within the UEMOA zone. The congress expects between 300 and 500 participants from the eight member states—Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo—to discuss digital transformation, internal resource mobilization, and the role of accounting in public sector accountability.

Following this, the Next Fintech Forum (NFF) will take place on November 26 and 27, 2026, at the Sofitel Cotonou Marina Hotel & Spa. Organized by Alliance Fintech UEMOA, the eighth edition will focus on the theme “From adoption to value: industrialising fintech to accelerate growth.” The forum will explore how West Africa can transition from digital adoption to creating measurable economic value through business finance, cross-border transactions, digital assets, and artificial intelligence.
