Cotopaxi athletes to represent Ecuador at Pan American Junior Karate Championship

Four athletes from the Cotopaxi province will represent Ecuador at the Pan American Junior Karate Championship. The event, which includes Junior, Cadet, U14, and U12 categories, is scheduled to take place in Costa Rica from August 24 to 30, 2026.

The delegation includes karatekas Anaí Mora Pesantes, Ailín Montserrath Valencia Chamorro, Valeska Goyes Vinces, and Sofía Mena Balarezo. They will be supported by coaches Israel Vargas and Laura Vinces.

Athlete Anaí Mora Pesantes noted that the team has been training intensely since the beginning of the year, with morning and afternoon sessions, to ensure they reached the competitive level required for this international qualification.
