South Korean Jenny Shin Holds Five‑Shot Lead After Two Rounds at Scottish Open

South Korea’s Jenny Shin led the 2026 ISPS HANDA Women’s Scottish Open by five strokes after 36 holes at Dundonald Links in Ayrshire, Scotland. She opened with a 66 (‑6) and followed with a 67 (‑5) on Friday, putting her at 11‑under overall, the lowest total of the field. Germany’s Esther Henseleit was second on 6‑under after a bogey‑free 68, while fellow South Korean A Lim Kim sat third on 5‑under.

Shin’s two‑round performance featured 13 birdies, 50 putts and no three‑putts. She said, “I never had a five‑shot lead before. I’m going to try and stay patient the next two days.” The tournament, co‑sanctioned by the LPGA and LET, carries a $2 million purse. Defending champion Lauren Coughlin fell to a tie for fourth after a 74 on day two, and world No. 1 Nelly Korda was four‑over the cut line.

The cut was set at six over par, with 65 players advancing to the weekend. Shin, who won only once on the LPGA Tour in 2016, is seeking her first victory in a decade.
