Council approvals boost new housing at Peterborough's Whitworth Mill and Enfield's North Mid

Peterborough City Council approved a revised scheme by MJS Construction for the former Whitworth Mill site at Fletton Quays. The plan converts the 19th‑century flour mill into 23 flats and adds three new blocks with 57 additional units, delivering a total of 80 apartments. No affordable housing is included in the development.

Enfield Council voted unanimously to approve the North Mid housing scheme adjacent to North Middlesex University Hospital. The project will replace vacant hospital buildings with 306 affordable homes, featuring a 16‑storey tower, a new nursery, café, and replacement NHS offices. The development includes 570 cycle spaces and 15 Blue‑Badge parking spots, and will involve the demolition of a locally‑listed NHS administration building, with conditions to record its historic significance before removal.
