Council of Chambers of Commerce of the Americas established in Bogotá

The Council of Chambers of Commerce of the Americas (CCCAM) was officially established during its first General Assembly in Bogotá, Colombia. The new international organization aims to strengthen integration, cooperation, and articulation among chambers of commerce across the Americas to foster trade, investment, and internationalization opportunities.

During the assembly, several regional vice-presidencies were elected. Karim Qubain, president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Cortés (Honduras), was elected as one of the two vice-presidents representing Central America, alongside Leticia Escobar of El Salvador. Mónica Heller, president of the Chamber of Commerce of Quito, was also elected as a Vice President.

The CCCAM currently includes 36 founding chambers from 16 countries, representing North America, Central America, the Caribbean, the Andean Region, and the Southern Cone. The organization's strategic agenda is built upon six pillars: commercial promotion and services, connectivity and positioning, knowledge and commercial intelligence, international cooperation and alliances, hemispheric advocacy for regional value chains, and gender in trade.
