Council of Legal Education extends ATP exam registration deadline

The Council of Legal Education (CLE) has extended the registration deadline for the November 2026 Advocates Training Programme (ATP) examinations to Tuesday, October 27, 2026. The council issued a notice stating that no further extensions will be granted beyond this new date.

In addition to the deadline extension, the CLE has opened a deferral window for candidates who have already registered but are unable to sit for the November examinations. Deferral applications must be submitted online through individual candidate portals with supporting documentation. Those granted a deferral must utilize the arrangement within two years, covering up to four ATP examination cycles.

Furthermore, candidates gazetted in October 2026 may collect their Certificates of Compliance and final transcripts from CLE offices between October 26 and 28. Collection must be done in person unless prior written authorization is provided for a representative.
