Council of Senior Scholars convenes 99th session in Taif

The Council of Senior Scholars has convened its 99th session in Taif, presided over by the Grand Mufti, Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Fawzan al-Fawzan. The meeting includes members and the Secretary-General to discuss various religious and legal topics referred by the leadership and various ministries.

Since its establishment in 1971, the Council has served as a primary religious authority in Saudi Arabia. Over its 54-year history, the body has addressed 1,127 topics and issued 251 decisions and 28 statements regarding contemporary issues and religious matters. The current session aims to examine scheduled topics with scientific and legal precision to issue appropriate fatwas and decisions.
