Council of State rejects Kastelli Airport radar lawsuit

The Greek Council of State has rejected a legal challenge regarding the installation of radar systems for the new Kastelli Airport on Papoura Hill. The lawsuit was filed by the Municipality of Minoa Pediada, along with various local groups, citizens, and scientists.

The plaintiffs sought to annul decisions made by the Ministries of Infrastructure and Culture, arguing against the placement of air navigation systems in close proximity to a unique Minoan monument discovered on the hill.

With the dismissal of the appeal, the Ministry of Infrastructure is cleared to proceed with the design and installation of the airport's navigation systems as planned.
