Councilor Olimpio Oliveira tours new José Pedrosa library construction in Campina Grande
Councilor Olimpio Oliveira (Podemos) inspected the works on the future Biblioteca José Cavalcanti Pedrosa after being invited by Campina Grande mayor Bruno Cunha Lima and municipal education secretary Raimundo Asfora Neto. The library will occupy the renovated former Cine Capitólio as part of the Capitólio da Educação cultural‑educational complex.
Oliveira highlighted that the naming of the library after the local bookseller José Pedrosa was approved unanimously by the city council and signed into law by the mayor. He said the family is expected to donate a large collection that belonged to Pedrosa, which will enrich the new public facility. The councilor stressed the importance of preserving culture and memory regardless of political differences.
