Councilor Olímpio Oliveira protests state handling of Campina Grande veterinary hospital

Councilor Olímpio Oliveira said he will wait for the appropriate moment to comment on recent animal‑cause news in Campina Grande, emphasizing his long‑standing commitment to animal protection. He reiterated that the issue deserves responsible and timely debate.

In a speech to the Campina Grande City Council, Oliveira harshly criticized the state government for excluding him from discussions and announcements about the new public veterinary hospital, a project he has supported for years. While welcoming the hospital as an "excellent news" that will serve protectors, NGOs, professionals and the public, he accused the authorities of disregard and warned of adopting the "principle of reciprocity," implying that the state will receive the same treatment it has given his mandate. The councilor stressed that the hospital will belong to all stakeholders and not be claimed by any single group.
