Country music fans report highest mental health levels in survey

A recent survey indicates that country music fans report the highest levels of mental health among various music genre consumers. Approximately 52 percent of country music enthusiasts reported experiencing increased happiness and reduced stress levels. In contrast, only 17 percent of these fans reported poor mental health.

Reggae listeners were noted to have mental health indicators tied with country music fans. Other genres, including classical, R&B/soul, jazz, and hip-hop, followed in the rankings. Conversely, listeners of folk, heavy metal, and indie/alternative music reported lower levels of mental well-being.

The survey also explored the general emotional impact of music. Nearly 75 percent of all respondents reported experiencing a mood boost or reduced stress, while over 60 percent felt increased energy, comfort, and happiness. Additionally, nearly one-fifth of participants stated that music assists them in sleeping better.
