Country Music Hall of Fame eligibility and induction history
The Country Music Hall of Fame continues its annual induction process, which selects three new members each year across specific categories: a Modern Era artist, a Veterans Era artist, and a rotating third category such as Songwriter or Non-Performer.
Recent inductees include the Class of 2026 members, the Stanley Brothers, Paul Overstreet, and Tim McGraw, as well as the Class of 2025 members, Tony Brown, June Carter Cash, and Kenny Chesney. Eligibility for Modern Era artists begins 20 years after reaching national prominence, while Veterans Era artists become eligible after 40 years.
Discussions regarding future inductees often focus on Modern Era artists. Notable eligible musicians who have not yet been inducted include Keith Urban, Trisha Yearwood, LeAnn Rimes, Dwight Yoakam, and Dierks Bentley.
