Coupang launches physical gift cards at GS25 convenience stores

Coupang has launched the sale of physical gift cards for Coupang and Coupang Eats at GS25 convenience stores. The rollout began in the Seoul, Gyeonggi, and Incheon areas, with plans to expand to approximately 18,000 GS25 locations nationwide by October.

Customers can customize the gift card value in 1,000 KRW increments, ranging from a minimum of 10,000 KRW to a maximum of 300,000 KRW. Addressing previous limitations of offline gift card purchases, which were restricted to cash, this new service supports credit card payments through five major providers: Samsung, KB Kookmin, Shinhan, Hana, and BC Card.

Once purchased, the physical cards can be converted into Coupang Cash via the Coupang app. The funds can be used for various services, including Rocket Delivery, the luxury beauty service R. LUX, Premium Fresh food items, and Coupang Eats food delivery. This expansion follows Coupang's previous efforts to increase gift card accessibility through digital options, KakaoTalk gifting, and physical card availability at Seven-Eleven.
