Coupang Pay integrates Rocket Pay with MyRealTrip

Coupang Pay has officially integrated its simple payment service, Rocket Pay, with the travel platform MyRealTrip. This marks the first instance where Coupang’s internal payment method has been directly connected to an external platform's payment system, rather than through a standard payment gateway (PG) expansion.

Under this integration, Coupang customers can purchase flights, accommodations, and tours on MyRealTrip using payment methods already stored in their Coupang accounts without requiring a separate registration. The two companies have directly linked their systems to optimize the payment experience and facilitate collaborative responses to technical issues or service disruptions.

This move is part of Coupang’s broader strategy to expand Rocket Pay from an internal shopping tool into a comprehensive lifestyle payment system that spans both online and offline sectors. While the specific next partners or schedules have not been disclosed, Coupang Pay stated that this partnership serves as a foundational step for expanding its payment infrastructure to large-scale external merchants.
