Courant purchases stallion Opera Royal for 500,000 Euro
At the Arqana-Trot auction in Deauville, the Swedish stable Courant purchased the one-year-old Danish-registered stallion Opera Royal for 500,000 Euro. The colt, sired by Tactical Landing out of Reethi Rah Jet, possesses an elite pedigree as the half-brother to Bold Eagle, one of the most successful trotters in French racing history.
Anders Ström of Courant expressed high satisfaction with the acquisition, noting the horse's magnificent physique and top-tier lineage. Opera Royal is scheduled to be shipped to the United States to join the stable managed by Marcus Melander.
In addition to the major purchase of Opera Royal, Courant also acquired the French-bred stallion Punky Marquis for 210,000 Euro. The Deauville yearling auction saw total sales of 7,202,000 Euro across 102 horses, with an average price of 70,608 Euro.
