Courier SMS phishing scam targets users with fake delivery notifications

A prevalent SMS-based phishing scam is targeting individuals by impersonating courier services. Fraudsters send messages claiming a failed delivery attempt or incorrect address information to create a sense of urgency. These messages often include a link to a fraudulent website designed to mimic the appearance of legitimate courier companies, using similar logos, colors, and forms.

Once users click the link, they are prompted to pay a small, seemingly insignificant fee to reschedule the delivery. This step is used to trick victims into providing sensitive credit card details and personal information. To prevent falling victim, users are advised to avoid clicking links in suspicious messages and to verify deliveries through official channels. If a link has already been clicked or card details shared, individuals should immediately change their passwords and contact their bank.
