Las Heras community protests potential house arrest for Gimena Extremador murder suspect

The family of Gimena Extremador has called for a peaceful march in Las Heras following a judicial decision by the Caleta Olivia Chamber of Justice to grant house arrest to Nelson Saldivia. Saldivia is the sole defendant accused of the November 2021 femicide.

The decision has sparked significant outrage among the victim's relatives, who criticize the judicial system for the lack of progress in the case. Nearly three years after the crime, a trial date has yet to be established. Gabriela Extremador, the victim's mother, expressed profound distress over the possibility of the accused awaiting sentencing at home rather than in custody.
