Senegalese Football Federation election dispute sent back to appeals commission by CAS

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has ruled on the dispute regarding the 2025 presidential election of the Senegalese Football Federation (FSF). The international tribunal ordered that the appeal filed by candidate Mady Touré be sent back to the FSF's Electoral Appeals Commission for a full review on its merits.

CAS determined that the FSF's initial decision to declare Touré's appeal inadmissible was not legally founded and violated the federation's own electoral code. The tribunal noted that the FSF Appeals Commission had a duty to examine the merits of the case, including allegations of irregularities in voter control and ballot counting.

Despite this ruling, the CAS did not annul the election results. The tribunal stated that it lacked sufficient information to rule on the merits itself and required a supplementary investigation by the FSF. Consequently, Abdoulaye Fall remains the acting president of the FSF, as the ruling has no immediate impact on the current leadership status.
