Court rulings in Murcia and Lima address administrative disputes
In Spain, the Administrative Court No. 2 of Murcia has issued a ruling supporting the Murcia City Council's decision to admit Industrial Engineers to positions originally designated for Industrial Technical Engineers (ITI). The decision follows a four-year legal process initiated by the Federation of Associations of Industrial Engineers of Spain (FAIIE), which argued that Industrial Engineers possess the necessary qualifications to perform all functions required of ITIs.
In Peru, the Fourth Specialized Chamber in Administrative Litigation of the Superior Court of Justice of Lima has revoked a precautionary measure regarding the Tacna to Boca del Río dual carriageway project. The court ruled in favor of the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC), effectively reinstating the nullity of the selection process for the road maintenance contract. This decision overturns a previous ruling that had allowed the Consorcio Vial Sama—comprising Construcciones y Conservación del Norte S.A.C. and Gezhouba Group Company Limited—to proceed with contract perfection.
