Court rulings issued in German legal proceedings

The District Court of Dachau has sentenced three young men to community service for property damage in Karlsfeld. The defendants, aged 15, 17, and 19, threw chicken eggs at a 39-year-old man and his residence, causing approximately 2,500 euros in damage to a balcony, facade, and solar system. While the defendants claimed the incident was an accidental result of a game, the court convicted them of joint property damage.

In a separate legal matter, the Dresden Regional Court has delivered a verdict in the appeal process regarding a 2022 forest fire near the Bastei. The primary defendant received a suspended prison sentence of one year and nine months after the court determined he knowingly accepted the risk of damage caused by glowing shisha coals. Two co-defendants were acquitted as the court found no evidence they could have foreseen the fire, while a fourth individual's original sentence remains unchanged. The fire destroyed roughly 2,500 square meters of forest, resulting in estimated property damages of 50,000 euros and significant ecological loss.
