Courteney Cox tributes Hayden Panettiere following her death

Courteney Cox has paid tribute to actress Hayden Panettiere, who passed away on August 16, 2026, at the age of 36. The official cause of death has not yet been determined.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly at the Toronto International Film Festival, Cox remembered Panettiere as a ‘wonderful’, ‘fun, happy and smart’ actress. The two worked together on the Scream franchise, first appearing together in 2011’s Scream 4 and reuniting for Scream VI in 2023.

Other colleagues from the Scream series, including Neve Campbell and David Arquette, have also shared tributes, remembering Panettiere’s talent, energy, and kindness.
