Cova de les Bruixes reopens in Benitatxell after remodeling
The Cova de les Bruixes in Benitatxell has officially reopened following recent remodeling and improvement works. To mark the reopening, the municipality hosted a family-oriented educational event titled ‘La nit de les bruixes’.
The event featured interpretive guided tours led by archaeologists Humberto García and Alejandro Gomis from the Benitatxell Heritage Office, alongside Professor of Archaeology Feliciana Sala from the University of Alicante. These tours aimed to highlight the historical significance and preserved remains of the site.
A key feature of the site's improvement is a new protected interpretive itinerary and a specialized sandbox designed for educational purposes. During the event, the company Didaktia facilitated a workshop called ‘Archaeologists for a Day’, where children practiced excavation techniques by uncovering ceramic fragments, bones, and metal pieces using scientific methods.
