Covasna County approves 10 million lei for winter road maintenance

The Covasna County Council has approved the direct assignment of winter road maintenance services to Drumuri și Poduri Covasna S.A. The project involves the snow removal and maintenance of approximately 250 km of county roads.

Operations will be managed through snow removal bases located in Sfântu Gheorghe, Târgu Secuiesc, Baraolt, and Întorsura Buzăului. Maintenance crews will perform daily inspections between 3:00 and 7:00 to ensure road safety and apply anti-slip materials as needed.

The estimated value of these services is between 10 and 12 million lei, covering the period from November 2026 to March 2027. Authorities have noted that traffic is prohibited on the DJ 121A road between Valea Crișului and Aita Medie (Pasul Vadas) during the winter months.
