Coventry City Nears Deal for Midfielder Gustavo Hamer

Coventry City, set to return to the Premier League for the first time since the 2000‑01 season, are close to completing the signing of 29‑year‑old Dutch midfielder Gustavo Hamer from Sheffield United. Reports indicate the two clubs are only a few million pounds apart on valuation, suggesting the deal could be finalised soon.

Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder confirmed that a bid for Hamer has been submitted and is under discussion with the club's owners. Hamer, who previously played for Coventry before moving to Sheffield United in 2023 for a reported £15 million fee, has made over 120 appearances for each club and contributed significantly with goals and assists.
