Covilhã municipal council approves €43,000 to finish Teixoso stadium

The Câmara Municipal da Covilhã voted unanimously to allocate €43,000 to the Grupo Desportivo Teixosense for the final phase of the Teixoso Municipal Stadium renovation, with the venue expected to open in September. Mayor Hélio Fazendeiro said the support will allow the stadium to serve “all the community” and announced a new regulation to govern its use by local clubs and associations.

Additional protocols were approved, including €32,800 for the Sport Lisboa Águias do Dominguizo to refurbish pavilion changing rooms and a modest contribution for the restoration of the entrance façade of the GIR do Rodrigo. The mayor emphasized the necessity of improving facilities used by “more than two hundred young people.”
