Covina Police arrest seven in San Gabriel Valley massage parlor sting
The Covina Police Department, in partnership with city code enforcement, conducted a weeklong undercover operation in the San Gabriel Valley targeting illegal sexual activity at massage establishments.
During the sting, officers utilized decoys to enter various parlors. According to Lieutenant Ray Marquez, arrests were made once employees allegedly agreed to perform sexual acts for money. The operation resulted in seven arrests for unlawful sexual behavior and the identification of seven businesses in violation of the law. Several citations were also issued.
The investigation was prompted by a tip regarding illegal sexual acts involving a family member of a resident. Police noted that the targeted businesses were not formally named and operated primarily through word-of-mouth. The department stated that these cases remain under investigation.
