Covo: Three injured in violent crash on SP 102

A violent traffic accident occurred early Wednesday morning, September 30, 2026, on the SP 102 provincial road between Covo and Calcio. The collision involved three individuals: a 21-year-old man, a 24-year-old woman, and a 60-year-old man. All three were treated and transported to hospitals in yellow code status. The young woman was airlifted to the hospital in Varese, the 21-year-old was taken to Treviglio, and the 60-year-old was transported to Bergamo.

Emergency responders included the Romano fire department, Carabinieri, and medical teams utilizing ambulances and an air ambulance. Carabinieri are currently investigating the dynamics and causes of the crash. The SP 102, often referred to as the ‘logistics road’ due to its connection between major logistics hubs, has seen a pattern of serious accidents, including a significant collision on August 27 that injured four people.
