Cowra police charge three after $50,000 home heist
Three individuals have been charged following a residential burglary in Cowra, where more than $50,000 worth of property was stolen. The theft occurred at a home on Redfern Street between July 1 and July 7, 2026.
Stolen items included a mineral rock collection, 1980s-era Australian currency, a safe, battery-powered tools, books, and various household items. Police reported that the home and garage were ransacked and glass display cabinets were smashed during the incident.
Following investigations by the Chifley Police District, a 22-year-old man was arrested on August 18, 2026, at a unit complex on Dowell Street. Officers seized minerals matching the stolen collection. He faces multiple charges, including aggravated break and enter and theft. A 49-year-old man was also arrested on August 20, 2026, at a unit on Victor Street, where police allegedly recovered stolen personal belongings and drugs.
