Cox secures $350 million wind power supply contract in Panama

Cox has won a long‑term wind‑energy supply contract in Panama through its Santa Cruz Wind project. The award, issued by the state‑owned transmission company Etesa, covers the delivery of roughly 5.22 TWh of renewable electricity over a 20‑year period, valued at more than €304 million (about $350 million). The project will install 68.4 MW of capacity using 12 turbines that can generate around 260 GWh per year.

Company officials said the deal strengthens Cox’s portfolio of long‑term renewable assets in the Ibero‑American market and supports Panama’s energy transition. Martín Sucre Champsaur, regional manager for the Central America, Caribbean, Colombia and Ecuador hub, described Santa Cruz Wind as an “emblematic project for Cox in Panama” that will contribute significantly to the country’s sustainable growth and emissions reduction goals.
