Coyame del Sotol former treasurer banned from public office
The State Auditor's Office has secured a 20-year disqualification from public office for the former treasurer of Coyame del Sotol, Chihuahua. The official, identified as M. A. G. G., was found responsible for the misappropriation of 74,636 pesos.
Investigations revealed that the former official authorized payments for vehicle maintenance, pool painting, medications, hardware, and residential cooling systems without proper documentation. These transactions were made from a personal account without proof that the funds were used for the stated purposes.
The State Court of Administrative Justice (TEJA) imposed the maximum possible disqualification, along with a fine of 72,316 pesos and an indemnity of 71,600 pesos. This marks the second sanction against the individual this year, following a previous ruling in August regarding the unauthorized collection of a check.
