Coyhaique Dog Park and New Animal Hospital Advance

Construction of a new public animal welfare hospital has reached the halfway point, with plans to triple its capacity for veterinary care, free surgeries, sterilizations and preventive medicine. The project, overseen by Aglae Yulidiana Lázaro Huérfano, director of the municipal institute for animal protection, aims to improve public health and reduce complaints by offering free services to pet owners.

In Chile, the municipal council of Coyhaique approved a 170‑million‑peso investment to build the city’s first dog park. Mayor Carlos Gatica Villegas and councilor Felipe León highlighted the space as a modern, inclusive public amenity that will promote responsible pet ownership, recreation and community interaction for families and their pets.
