Coyoacán launches free breast cancer screening program with FUCAM

The Coyoacán borough in Mexico City has launched the sixth edition of its social action program, ‘Coyoacán Contigo en la Detección y Diagnóstico Oportuno del Cáncer de Mama’. In partnership with the foundation FUCAM, the initiative provides free mammographies to women aged 40 and older.

This year, the program will conduct 20 sessions across various neighborhoods in the district, aiming to provide 1,200 free mammographies. Since the beginning of Mayor Giovani Gutiérrez Aguilar’s administration, the strategy has resulted in a total of 7,770 mammographies performed as part of a permanent health prevention effort for women.

FUCAM’s founder and lifetime president, Dr. Fernando Guisa Hohenstein, and Director General María Luisa Guisa Ortega participated in the launch, emphasizing the importance of early detection to identify anomalies and save lives.
